Band Bio’s

Sonic Super Highway consists of a diverse group of musicians with one goal.  To rock your socks off!  We set out to take our varied backgrounds in Rock, Pop, Jazz, and Fusion and create something fresh.  We pride ourselves on just being a Rock & Roll band.  A group of real musicians that like to play it loud & proud!

Individual Members

Sylvester “Boston” Allen – Boston was born and raised in Richmond Virginia.  He has played bass guitar for over 30 years in various gospel and jazz groups. In recent years he has been playing contemporary Christian music.  He studies music theory with Mr. W. Mason, a Berklee graduate.

Doug Manfred – Doug is our new singer and keyboardist.  BIO SOON TO COME!

Greg Saunders - Greg started playing guitar at the age of 10 and Drums at the age of 14.  Throughout High School he played the drums and also studied Piano. After 4 years of Music Theory study in High School, Greg went on to study Music Education at VCU with a minor in Jazz Guitar.  Greg has earned three song writing awards from the Virginia Organization of Composers and Lyricists and was featured in a local Chesterfield, VA paper for his song writing. He played in the band Trademark from 1993-1999, but left to spend time with his newborn son.   He is a serious gear head and builds guitar rigs for himself and others.

Jonathan Williams - Jonathan Williams was born and raised in Richmond, VA. Growing up in a musical family exposed Jonathan to music at a very early age.  He has been playing drums for over 9 years and also plays the guitar.  He spent 3 years in the band “Almost Sober” and has performed with and done studio work for many acts in the area.  His influences include Mike Portnoy, Dave Weckl, & Simon Phillips.
